One-Pan Roast Chicken for People You Love.

When I want to impress without stress, I roast a chicken on a bed of root vegetables and let my oven do the personality work. The house smells like yes, stay for dinner. Guests arrive already softened.

I use farmers market carrots when I have them because sweetness matters. I tuck lemon and herbs under the skin like little green love notes. Salt generously. Trust heat. Peek only when you must.

The serving platter is the same one I used in my real estate staging days—white, big, honest. Carve at the table so everyone sees the work and the reward. Offer seconds before anyone has to ask.

Fine dining is lovely. So is a pan you can scrub while people help with wine glasses. Both are love languages.
