I was reading about present value at six a.m. with cold coffee when the example used a simple savings goal—not a yacht, not a meme stock, just a woman putting money aside for something real. I cried a little. Former teacher, former accountant, current human.
Time value of money sounds cold until you connect it to time value of dinner with your parents while they still remember the recipe. Finance is about time. So is hosting. So is everything worth keeping.
I am not telling you what to do with your dollars. I am saying the concept landed in my body, not just my notes, and that matters when you study at my age. Learning can still rearrange you.
