Former teacher, remember\u2014I love homework with dirt under the nails. Now I grow herbs, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and enough zucchini to make friends lock their car doors.<\/p>\n<p>Gardening is my crunchy wellness practice: sun, soil, patience, compost. I do not spray chemicals. I negotiate with slugs like a reasonable adult. Sometimes I lose.<\/p>\n<p>Harvest day means a dinner menu writes itself. Basil pesto, simple greens, grilled vegetables on the patio. Guests swear I am fancy. I am just outside with scissors.<\/p>\n<p>Start one bed. One herb pot if that is all you have.
