I Have Notes."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Urban forestry is a long game. The city planted three saplings between sidewalk and curb where roots and infrastructure will negotiate for fifty years. I watered the nearest one because rain is inconsistent and I am a woman who names bald lawn spots Gary.<\/p>\n<p>A neighbor said they will shade our grandchildren. I said our grandchildren will probably live in VR. We agreed the trees still matter, the same way compound interest matters even when I am still studying the formulas and not qualified to tell anyone else what to do with money.<\/p>\n<p>I have notes on spacing, species, and whether the middle tree is too close to car doors. I will send a polite email the city may or may not read. Either way, the trees are here.<\/p>\n<p>Watch something grow this year.
